Last Supper

Painted by Leonardo da Vinci between 1495 and 1498. It is the most famous representation of the Last Supper, a masterpiece of Leonardo and of the Italian Renaissance in general. The fresco represents the Last Supper of Jesus with his apostles. The moment depicted in the Last Supper is taken from the Gospel of John and shows the moment after Jesus'; announcement of the imminent betrayal: „Verily, I say to you, one of you will betray me.“
