It is a variety of beans that is characterized by the surface coloured half white and half black. Their particular name derives from this fact: the presence of two clearly opposite colours evokes the contrast that often distinguishes the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law! Returning serious, this type of bean is particularly rich in vitamins and nutrients. They can be eaten either alone or as an ingredient in pasta dishes or soups, but with the polenta combined with bacon, chili pepper and sausage are really delicious!
