THE MONA LISA

The mona Lisa: made by Leonardo da vinci in 1503-1504. The work traditionally represents Lisa Gherardini, that is “Mona"; Lisa, wife of Francesco del Giocondo. After all, during his third stay in Florence, Leonardo lived in the houses next to Palazzo Gondi, a few steps from Piazza della Signoria, which belonged to a branch of the Gherardini family of Montagliari.
